A small storefront on Main Street with a narrow, carefully chosen stock of Chinese porcelain. No premiums, no bidding, no theatre — just the piece, the price, and an honest account of what it is.
What We Carry
A small shop,
chosen narrowly.
We deal in Chinese porcelain — blue and white, famille rose, doucai and openwork wares — and not much else. No furniture, no paintings, no bronzes. Sticking to one thing is the only way a shop this size can know what it is selling.
Stock comes in from estates, from local families clearing a house, and from the trade. We buy a piece at a time, and we turn down far more than we take.
If you are nearby, come in and pick things up. Porcelain reads completely differently in the hand than it does on a screen, and we would rather you handled a piece before you bought it.
How We Describe Things
“Where a piece has been restored, we say so — and we show you where.”
Photographs are of the actual piece, taken in daylight against a plain ground, with nothing edited out. If there is a chip, a hairline, a firing flaw or an old restoration, it is in the photographs and it is written in the description.
We are careful about age. Where we are confident of a period we will say it plainly. Where we are reading the style rather than proving a date, the listing says “after” or “in the taste of” — and that means exactly what it sounds like. We would rather undersell a piece than oversell it.
Ask us for more pictures, the base, the mark, measurements, or a look under UV light. We will send them the same day.

Buying & Shipping
How to Buy
Call or send an inquiry through the site and we will hold the piece for you. We take card, bank transfer and cheque. Nothing is sold until it is paid for, and we never take a deposit to start a bidding war.
Packing & Delivery
Double-boxed and foam-packed by hand, insured for the full purchase price, shipped anywhere in the United States. Overseas is quoted case by case. Local delivery we handle ourselves.
Returns
Thirty days from delivery, for any reason, for a full refund of the purchase price. Send it back the way it came and we will not ask you to justify it.
Selling
We buy, and we'll
tell you straight.
If you have inherited a piece or are clearing a house, send us photographs — the whole piece, the base, and any mark — along with the height. There is no charge for an opinion.
We buy outright and we take things on consignment. And if a piece is worth more at auction than we could sensibly pay for it, we will tell you that instead of quietly buying it cheap.
